Richard Neil Polson

Richard Neil Polson, 84, of Rigby, passed away at his home, Monday, May 9th 2016. Neil was born June 28th 1931 in Menan, Idaho a son to Charles Arthur Polson and Annie Alyce Olavason Polson. He attended Roberts schools. He served in the United States Navy from 1950 to 1954. He married Joyce Larie Lundquist April 18th 1956 in LaBelle. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls Temple. He worked as a warehouse manager for Sears in Idaho Falls and then as Supervisor for the Ricks College Athletic Department. He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served as Young Men’s President, as a primary teacher, in the Elders Quorum and in the High Priest Group. He also served with the Boy Scouts of America. He enjoyed a good joke, carpentry work, horseback riding, fishing, four wheeling and supporting grandchildren’s activities. He is survived by his wife Joyce of LaBelle, a daughter, JoAnn (David) Dayley of Labelle, two sons; Richard Mark (Becky) Polson of LaBelle and Douglas Scott (Annie) Polson of Rigby, two sisters; Patsy Bryan of Bozeman, Montana and Dixie Harkness of Challis, a brother Max Dee (Linda) Polson of Idaho Falls, eight grandchildren, Jill (Kyle) Jackson, Jessica Dayley, Lindsay (Brandon) Anderson, Clancy (Megan) Dayley, Austin (Erica) Polson, Dallin Polson, Dillon Polson, and Payton Polson, and three great grandchildren: Cambree Dayley, Andi & Holden Anderson. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother Robert and two sisters, Elaine and Sidney. Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 14th 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in the LaBelle LDS Chapel, 4223 East 528 North, Rigby, Idaho. The family will visit with friends at Eckersell Memorial Chapel, 101 West Main Street, Rigby, Idaho, on Friday May 13th, from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and on Saturday at the church from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. Interment will be in the Annis Little Butte Cemetery.
