Rick Lee Jones

Rick Lee Jones, 74, of Ririe, Idaho passed away on his birthday, Saturday, August 27, 2022. He was born August 27, 1948 in Renton, Washington, the son of Donald Lee Jones and Donna Rae Hjelm Jones. Rick and Delaine were married in the Idaho Falls Temple. He loved his Savior and had a deep faith. Rick and Delaine were in a ward group that did temple work and Rick looked forward to that. Rick was a member of the 101st Flying Eagles and served in Vietnam, and was medevacked off of Hamburger Hill. He served in the VFW and was a lifelong member. Rick retired at the NRF after 34 years. Rick loved scouting and spent many hours serving. He also enjoyed hiking and loved the outdoors, hunting and four-wheeling. He took all three boys on 50 milers. One of Rick’s loves was genealogy and he taught classes at the church. His second home was Wickenburg, Arizona. Rick and Delaine spent the last 11 years there in the winter with many friends and family, and had many wonderful adventures. One of Rick’s greatest loves was their family ranch, Canyon Spring Ranch, up on Antelope Flats. This is the place he loved the most for the beauty and for being in nature. Rick loved his large family and many friends. He is survived by his wife, Nola Delaine Summers Jones of Ririe, ID. His children, Jenifer Lee Hill of Rigby, Idaho, Shayne Erick Jones of New Orleans, LA, Tyler Rick S. (Gloria) Jones of Lock Port, New York, and Justin Dwayne Jones of Pingree, ID. His sisters; Roxann Jones and Margurite Thomson of Shelley, Idaho and a brother, Perry Jones of Goshen, Idaho. He is preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Andrea Jones, a brother, Leonard Jones, sister's, Susan Jones and Leota Olmos. A service will be held Wednesday, September 7, 2022 at 11:00 AM in the Poplar Ward, (285 2nd West, Ririe, ID 83443). The family will meet with friends prior to the service on Wednesday from 9:30 to 10:45 AM at the church. The interment will be in the Ririe-Shelton Cemetery.
