Robert Michael Allen

Robert Michael Allen, of Terreton, Idaho, passed away on December 1, 2025. He was born in Idaho Falls, Idaho, on August 10, 1953, to Cecil Calkins Allen and Florence Irene Shafer Allen. He grew up in Terreton and attended Terreton Elementary School before graduating from West Jefferson High School in 1971.

Robert worked in several flower shops in Rigby and Rexburg, and in local grocery stores, and spent many years caring for the West Jefferson Cemetery in Terreton. In 1968, he founded Allen’s Greenhouse as a Future Farmers of America high school project. The project grew into a successful and well-loved family business.

He was a dedicated member of the Lions Club, first joining in 1992 in West Jefferson. He transferred to the Hamer Lions Club in 2004 and held nearly every club office. Robert also served in many district roles and was honored to serve as District Governor for the Eastern Idaho district from 2001 to 2002.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil and Florence Allen. He is survived by his sisters, Carol (Bob) Engel of Pocatello, Idaho, and Patricia “Gwen” (Lynn) Jackman, also of Pocatello, Idaho.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 11, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Eckersell Funeral Home, with a visitation prior from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. at Eckersell’s. Interment will follow at the West Jefferson Cemetery.
