Robert "Bob" Louis Olsen

Robert “Bob” Louis Olsen, age 60, of Menan, passed away at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls Friday, April 3rd 2015. Bob was born April 7th 1954 in Idaho Falls to Louis Wayne and Mildred Alta Bowen Olsen. He attended special needs school in Grant, Roberts and Rigby. He was involved with Developmental Workshop for over 42 years; one of his favorite activities was numbering ducks for the annual duck race in Idaho Falls. He participated with Special Olympics in swimming and bowling. He worked for neighbors feeding cows and mowing lawns and enjoyed feeding and caring for his Grandmothers and Brothers cows and horses. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and enjoyed attending his Sunday School “Cooking Class”. He is survived by his father Louis Olsen of Menan; Sisters Colleen Strupp of Rexburg, Penny Jo Simon of Idaho Falls, Connie (Joe) Andersen of Idaho Falls and Candy (Jeff) Hopkin of Rexburg; a brother Blair (Marie) Olsen of Menan. He was preceded in death by his mother Mildred Alta Olsen. Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 9th at 11:00 a.m. in the Menan LDS Church, 3547 E. Menan Lorenzo Highway. The family will visit with friends Wednesday from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. at Eckersell Memorial Chapel, 101 West Main, Rigby, and on Thursday from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. at the church.
