Robert Voyle Brown

Robert Voyle Brown, 83, of Rexburg, died Friday, December 31, 2010 at Heritage Homes of Rexburg. He was born May 4, 1927, in Parowan, Utah to Nephi Earl Brown and Wanda Jardine Brown. He was raised and attended schools in Menan graduating from Midway High School. He continued his education at Ricks College and Brigham Young University, earning a Master’s Degree in English. On June 6, 1948, he married Martha Dean Fisher in Annis, Idaho; their marriage was solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple on September 1, 1955. Robert farmed in the Menan area for 22 years prior to teaching at Ricks College for 26 years. He is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in various positions including; Primary, Sunday School, Young Men’s, Scouting, Elders Quorum, High Priest Quorum, Stake Missionary, and as a Clerk in the Bishopric. He and Martha served a 20 month mission in England together and served as Officiators in the Idaho Falls Temple. He enjoyed riding and breaking horses, reading, writing and going on walks. He is survived by his wife Martha Dean Fisher Brown, of Rexburg, daughters, Bobbi Dene (Wayne) Gardner, of Henderson, Nevada., April (Jerry) Carter, of St. Anthony, sons, Randy (Monica) Brown, of West Valley, Utah, Kenlee (Teresa) Brown, of Richmond, Utah, sisters, Ella (Harold) Glick, of Seattle, Washington, Lorna (Robert) Green, of Idaho Falls, a brother, Erroll (Diana) Brown, of Casa Grande, Arizona, 15 grandchildren 14 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Richard Brown Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 3, 2010, at the Lyman LDS Chapel, with Bishop Kevin Barnes, conducting. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m., Sunday evening at Eckersell Memorial Chapel, 101 West Main Street, Rigby, and from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m., prior to services at the church. Burial will be in the Annis Little Butte Cemetery, under the care of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby.
