Robert Hugh Frew, Jr. (Bud) passed away at the age 79 at his home in Menan, Idaho on Tuesday, October 10, 2023. Bud was born August 7, 1944 in Idaho Falls, Idaho to Robert Hugh Frew, Sr. and Norma Jean Thomas Frew. He was the third of ten children and grew up farming in Burton, Idaho. Bud graduated from Madison High School in 1962 followed by service in the Army from 1965-1967 during the Vietnam War, stationed in Korea as an MP dog handler. Bud married the love of his life, Susan Janet Howard, May 31, 1967 in Salt Lake City, Utah. They were blessed with three children: David, Leslie, ad Michelle. Bud continued farming until after the Teton Dam broke in 1976, then transitioned to working construction, core drilling, and many other various jobs until returning to construction and retiring in 2009. Retirement could not hold him, so he worked at the golf course and harvesting grain until 2018. Bud was one of the founding members of the Rexburg Archery Club and a part of the Frew Frog Farm bowling league. He loved to hunt, fish, and go for drives to see the fall colors. Bud is survived by his spouse, Susan Frew of Menan, Idaho; son, David (Stephanie) Frew of Shelly, Idaho; daughters, Leslie (David) Deschaine of Salmon, Idaho, and Michelle (Brian) Crabb of Gresham, Oregon; sisters, Mary Michael (Larry) Willner of Sparks, Nevada, Barbara (Jerry) Wolahan of Victor, Idaho, Trudy Carlson of Twin Falls, Idaho, Kate Eckhaus of Hayward, California; brother, Frank Frew of Lynn Haven, Florida; and his nine grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents and four siblings; Criss, Judy, Thomas and John. Bud was a loving son, brother, husband, father, and grandfather. Bud is known by all who knew him for his hard work, honesty, twinkling smile, laughter, and love. He will be greatly missed. Services will be held Saturday, October 21, 2023, at 11:00 at the Eckersell Memorial Chapel on 101 West Main Street, Rigby, Idaho 83442. A viewing will be held on Friday, October 20, 2023 from 6:30-8:30 pm and again before the funeral starting at 9:30 to 10:45 am. Interment will be at the Little Butte Cemetery in Annis, Idaho.
