Robert  Bradley Holder passed away unexpectedly early on the morning of February 6, 2025.

Brad was born in Huntington, California on September 15, 1952, the son of Jack and Evelyn Holder.  He was raised and attended elementary and high school in Rigby, Idaho. He attended Idaho State University and served in United States Air Force.

Brad was a beautiful child and he was doted on by his parents.  Growing up, he was a little quiet and introverted.  Never much into sports, he was extremely gifted artistically.  He loved to draw and write stories.  As a teenager, he enjoyed motorcycles, skiing and music.

Brad married Sandra Jones at the young age of 17.  They later divorced but from their union came Brad’s three children, Greg, Kimberely and Ryan.

Brad worked at the INL for over 40 years as a project manager and technical writing manager.  He made some good friends there but, most importantly, it was there that he met the love of his life, Brenda Schorzman.

Brad and Brenda were married on March 23, 1991.  Shortly after their marriage, they moved from Idaho Falls to Rigby where they made their home in the same house that Brad was raised in.  With his marriage to Brenda, Brad gained another son, Brandon, whom he loved and worked hard to mentor and advise over the years.

Brad loved the outdoors and enjoyed motorcycle and camping trips. He was an avid reader and a huge fan of cartoons, particularly Looney Toons and The Simpsons.  He loved to travel and, until his health made it difficult, he and Brenda divided their time between Idaho and Arizona.  Brad enjoyed being active and busy and, despite his ailing health in later years, was always coming up with new and varied projects to immerse himself in.

Brad was a devoted husband to his wife; Brenda and she was his constant and loving companion.  They were there for each other through everything.  Brad loved and was very proud of his children and they always knew he was there for them when they needed him.  He was a dutiful son and did his best to care for and help his parents, especially his dad, Jack, in his later years.

Although a self-proclaimed hermit who didn’t really like being around people, Brad was funny, warm and engaging.  Everyone who knew him liked him.  He will be very missed; his wit and his humor; his unique wisdom and creativity and the unconventional way he viewed and approached life.  He was truly one of a kind.

Brad is survived by his wife, Brenda; daughter, Kimberely (Dirk) Murray of Idaho Falls, Idaho; his son, Ryan (April) Holder of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, stepson, Brandon Stewart of Idaho Falls, Idaho; a sister, Jenise (Frank) Coronado of Mesa, Arizona; 8 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Evie; his son, Greg and his grandson, Teran.

Friends and family are invited to a visitation on Friday, February 14th, from 10:00 to 10:45 am at Eckersell Funeral home (101 W. Main Street, Rigby, Idaho) followed by a brief service at 11:00 am.  A graveside service will be held at a later date.  Condolences can be shared with the family at www.eckersellfuneralhome.com.
