Robert James Landon, age 76, of Rigby, passed away at home on Friday, December 04, 2015. Robert was born on May 4, 1939, in Idaho Falls to Harold and Zelma Landon. He was raised and attended school in Osgood, Salmon and Rigby. Graduating from Rigby High School. He married Margaret Mary Croft on June 2, 1961. He worked for Leo Parker, Dewain Foster and Logan Farm Equipment. Robert was an employee of BYU-Idaho for 8 years retiring in 2005. After he retired he served a Family History mission for the LDS Church for 10 years. Robert enjoyed fishing, and hunting, he loved spending time with his family and he had a heart of gold. He loved taking care of his animals and puttering around the homestead where he loved fixing and creating items for the farm and garden. Robert enjoyed helping at the Food Bank in Ririe and loved visiting with the people that he helped. Robert is survived by his wife Margaret of Rigby, three daughters: Nancy Summers of Rigby, Amy (Trent) Johnson of Rigby, and Susan (Ray) Bingham of Idaho Falls. Two sons: Clint (LaDawn) Landon of Idaho Falls, and Jared Landon of Rigby. Two sister: Sharon (Brent) Hulse of Irigon Oregon, and Gay Lyn (Byron) Hodges of Idaho Falls. Five brothers: Delon (Sonia) Landon of Rigby, Larry (Jennie) Landon of Salmon, Ramon (Gail) Landon of Idaho Falls, Errol (Cathie) Landon of Idaho Falls, Norman (Patti) Landon of Ririe. Robert was blessed with 20 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. Robert was preceded in death by his parents Harold and Zelma and a brother Roy Landon. Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 7, 2015, at 11:00 am at the Perry LDS Ward Building with Bishop Justin Miller conducting. The family will visit with friends prior to the service from 9:30-10:45 a.m. at the church. Burial will be at the Ririe-Shelton Cemetery under the direction of Eckersell Memorial Chapel.
