Robert Cole Millet, 71 of Rigby, Idaho died Sunday, March 8, 2015, at the Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.
Robert was born May 16, 1943, in Provo, Utah a son of Lorin Elmer Millet and Ruth Maria Henry Millet. He was raised and attended school in Orem, Utah and Rigby, Idaho, graduating from Rigby High School. He continued his education at Ricks College and graduated from B.Y.U. Provo with a Bachelor in Political Science. Robert was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served a mission to the French East/Franco Belgium Mission and in the bishopric and high council while in New York. He married Linda Frances Rugg on May 29, 1982, in the Washington D.C. L.D.S. Temple. Robert was in the United States Army and served in Vietnam. Robert enjoyed singing and participating in musical productions in New York and Idaho.
He worked at Schenectady, New York as a carpenter for several years and then in Rigby from 1997 until he retired. Robert enjoyed reading, hunting, fishing in his younger years and supported the Boy Scouts of America.
Robert is survived by his wife Linda R. Millet of Rigby, daughters, Jerusha Millet of Idaho Falls, Annabelle Millet of Idaho Falls, sons, Michael Millet of Idaho Falls, Adam Millet of Lewisville, sister, Maria Jane (Michael) Bryson, brothers, Lorin Edward (Joyce) Millet of Ephrata, Washington, William Henry (Janet) Millet of Rigby, Idaho and Clark Burr (Dianne) Millet of Rigby and 2 grandchildren.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents Lorin and Ruth Millet.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 13, 2015 at the Rudy-Clark Ward L.D.S. Chapel (198 N. 4300 E. Rigby) with Bishop David Barnes conducting. The family will visit with friends on Thursday evening from 7:00 – 8:30 p.m. at the Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby and Friday morning prior to the service from 9:30 – 10:45 a.m. at the church. Burial will be in the Rigby Pioneer Cemetery under the direction of Eckersell Memorial Chapel.
