Robinette Mary Koon, passed away December 15, 2011, in Thornton, Idaho at the home of Bert and Nanett Pincock, surrounded by family.
She was born March 16, 1922 in Independence, Idaho to Alma Maroni Larsen and Vera Daniels Larsen, the third of six children.
She attended Independence elementary school and Rigby High School.
September 1, 1939 she was married to Robert M. Koon. They were together for 67 years until the time of his death.
They raised 4 children on their farm in Independence. In 1970 at the age of 48 they moved to Canada where they added a foster daughter to their family. In the late 90s they moved back to Idaho.
Robinette was a member of the LDS Church. She enjoyed square dancing, horseback riding, traveling and her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, three brothers, two sisters and 1 granddaughter.
She is survived by a sister-in-law Wanda Larsen, children: Larry (Gaylene) Koon of Arizona, Lionel (Kathleen) Koon of Independence, Gordon (Rose Lee) Koon of Independence, Anita (Jack) Clark of Independence, Sonja (Al) Robison, of Washington, fifteen grandchildren, twenty six great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
Funeral services will be held Friday December 23, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby. The family will visit with friends Thursday evening from 6:00 to7:30 p.m. and on Friday from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. both will be at Eckersell Memorial Chapel. Burial will be in the Burton Cemetery under the direction of Eckersell Memorial Chapel.
The family gives special thanks to Bert and Nanett Pincock for the love and special care their family gave our mom in the last months of her life.
