Roger Dean Ellsworth

Roger Dean Ellsworth, 57, of Lewisville, Idaho, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Tuesday, September 27, 2016 in Lewisville. Roger was born to Gwen Goody Ellsworth and Oscar Ellsworth in Idaho Falls, Idaho on June 1, 1959. He was raised in Lewisville and attended schools in Lewisville, Roberts, and Rigby, Graduating from Rigby High School. He continued his education at Ricks College. Roger married Cindy Holder; they were blessed with a son, Dylan. They were later divorced. Roger worked as a mechanic and professional truck driver for multiple companies until a trucking accident in 2000. Roger was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He enjoyed all sports and played football during his high school years. He loved his nieces and nephews as if they were his own children. Roger is survived by his son, Dylan Joseph Ellsworth, grandson, Joshua Joseph Ellsworth Poole, sister, Nancy Castaldo, brothers, Terry (Mary) Ellsworth, John (Lori) Ellsworth, David (Suanne) Ellsworth, and 14 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gwen and Oscar Ellsworth, sister, Sherry Dee, brother, Preston Blake, and nephew Kyle T. The family of Roger wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Nurse Karri Croft with Solace of Hospice. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, October 3, 2016 at the Lewisville 1st Ward LDS Chapel. The family will receive friends and family from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., prior to services at the church. Burial will be in the Lewisville Cemetery. Services are under the care of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby. Memorial contributions may be made in Roger’s name to the Myotonic Dystrophy Foundation, 1004-A O’Reilly Ave. San Francisco, CA 94129 or through their website www.myotonic.org
