Roger Allen Tibbitts

Roger Allen Tibbitts, 58 of Rigby, ID, passed away Monday, May 29, 2017 in Salt Lake City, UT surrounded by family. He was born January 2, 1959 in Idaho Falls, Idaho, The fifth of seven children. On the family farm he worked and was part of a tight knit family.  He graduated from Rigby High School in 1977.  He was a hard worker and made his career with his father at Boise Cascade.  He was known for being friendly and having a great sense of humor with coworkers and peers. He married Stephanie Carter of Rexburg, ID in 1990. Together they had two children, Toby and Tiffanie.  They later divorced. Roger enjoyed the outdoors. He was an avid fisherman, especially on the Snake River around where he grew up.  He liked 4-wheeling, wild life watching, camping, skiing and star gazing.  He loved animals especially dogs.  Surrounding himself with many furry companions through the years.  He loved working in his yard, carefully tending to trees and plants.  He always had a garden that almost invariably would get trampled by wayward farm animals.  He always took this in with great humor and a resilient spirit.  This never stopped him from planting again the next year, always with a smile. He was a member of the LDS Church and part of the Lorenzo 1st Ward.  He truly was a loving father and great friend to everyone he met.  He will forever be missed by his children, family and friends. He is survived by his children Tiffanie and Toby Tibbitts. His parents; Jim and Joann Tibbitts.  His siblings; Bruce, Jeff and Jana Tibbitts.  He was preceded in death by his brothers Don, Jimmy and Mark Tibbitts. A funeral service will be held, Monday, June 5, 2017 at 11:00 AM in the Lorenzo LDS Ward Chapel, (401 West. 1st South, Rigby, ID).  The family will meet with friends Sunday, June 4, 2017 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Eckersell Memorial Chapel (101 W. Main Street, Rigby) and again on Monday prior to services at the church from 9:30 to 10:45 AM.  Interment will be in the Annis Little Butte Cemetery.
