Roger Kenneth Wood

October 1, 1938 — February 13, 2026

Rexburg, Idaho

Roger Kenneth Wood, 87, of Rexburg, passed away on February 13, 2026, at his home, surrounded by his family.

Roger was born in Rexburg on October 1, 1938, to George Kenneth and Opal Johnson Wood. He joined his older sister, Karma, in the family home. He graduated from Madison High School in 1956 and soon began building a life defined by hard work and reliability—driving truck for local contractors during the winter months and dry farming through the summers.

He met his future wife through a mutual friend, and on September 25, 1959, he married Claudia Lea Bowen. Together they built a loving home and welcomed two children: their daughter, Angela K, born in 1960, and their son, Christian Roger, born in 1971.

Roger’s hobbies reflected his adventurous spirit and his love of craftsmanship. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, HAM radio (K7ULJ), building hot rods and classic cars, horse racing, snowmobiling, flying, golfing, and—last but certainly not least—spending time at the coffee shop. He was active in many organizations throughout his life, including the Rexburg Lions Club, So-Ida Hotrods, Upper Valley and Idaho State Bowhunters, NRA, AOPA, AQHA, and the Rexburg Airport Board, forming lasting friendships everywhere he went.

Roger is survived by his children, Angela (Kevin) and Chris (Christy), 3 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister.

The family would like to thank Enhabit Hospice especially Leah, Stacey, Amy, Joyce, Chaplain Glen and Gary for their tender care and compassion. Thanks also to Eckersell Funeral Home for their expertise and empathy.

Private services will be held at a later date.
