Ronald Ackerman

Ronald Ackerman 74, of Menan, Idaho, died September 21, 2010, at the Idaho Falls Care Center. He was born August 30, 1936, in Salt Lake City, Utah to Jack Ackerman and Mary Oreno Ackerman. He attended schools in Idaho Falls, graduating from Idaho Falls High School. On August 7, 1958, he married Norma H. Taylor in Menan; their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls, LDS Temple. He worked at Harts Bakery in Idaho Falls and was a Journeyman Baker. He also worked for Coca Cola retiring after 33 years. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served as Cub Scout Leader and Cub Master, he also served as 2nd counselor in Bishopric and as a nursery leader. Ron was a very good father, he loved his grandchildren and he always paid attention to children everywhere he went. He liked singing and drawing, enjoyed the outdoors, fishing and bird hunting. He is survived by his wife, Norma H. Ackerman, of Menan, daughters, Sonya K. (Victor) Noles, of Idaho Falls, Chere W. Garland, of Menan, a son, Kurt R.(Jenni) Ackerman, of Menan, a brother, Richard Ackerman, of Idaho Falls, and grandchildren, Jennifer (Matt) Dixon, Kristie (Casey) Ackerman, Chaz Noles, Dezy Roker, Gage Ackerman, Kes Garland, Trevor Noles, Adam Noles, two great-grandchildren, Kaebree Nebeker and Addie Christensen. He was preceded in death by his Mother, Mary Oreno Ackerman Green, Father, Jack Ackerman, and a sister, Darleen Sato. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 25, 2010, at the Menan 2nd Ward LDS Chapel, with Bishop Gary Asper, conducting. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m., Friday evening at Eckersell Memorial Chapel, 101 West Main Street, Rigby, and from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m., prior to services at the church. Burial will be in the Annis Little Butte Cemetery, under the direction of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby.
