Ronald DeMar Nebeker, age 63, of Grant, Idaho, died Friday, June 20, 2003, at his home. Ron was born May 22, 1940, at Annabella, Utah, a son of DeMar Nebeker and Carrie Luzon Shaw Nebeker. He attended schools in the Richfield, Utah area graduating from Richfield High School. He attended college at Cedar City, Utah for 2 years and then attended and graduated from California College of Mortuary Science in Los Angeles, California as a licensed Embalmer and Funeral Director and was recognized by MU Sigma Alpha for outstanding Academic Proficiency. He married Mary Magleby they had two children and were later divorced. He married Loa Oswald, March 19, 1976 in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and was serving as secretary in the Grant 1st Ward High Priest Group. In Salt Lake City he served in the Elders Quorum Presidency, as Ward Clerk, with the 70s presidency and taught Sunday School. Ron and Loa served for 3 years as leadership missionaries in the Salt Lake City 9th Ward and recently served as Church Service Missionaries in the Humanitarian Room for the Deseret Industries in Idaho Falls. Ron worked as a Funeral Director for Larkin Mortuary in Salt Lake City, Deseret Mortuary in Salt Lake City and was working at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary in Salt Lake City when he retired 4 years ago and moved to Grant. He was an avid Amateur Radio operator sharing his accomplishments to anyone who would listen which included sitting on the AWRL-DXCC honor roll for the number of countries worked world wide. Survivors include: Wife, Loa Nebeker of Grant, Idaho 1 daughter, Christine (Robert) Mortimor of Mukwonago, Wisconsin 1 son, Gary Nebeker of Brigham City, Utah Mother, Luzon Nebeker of Richfield, Utah Brother, T. Evan Nebeker of Mississippi State, Mississippi 4 grandchildren He was preceded in death by his father. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 24, 2003, at 11:00 a.m. in the Grant First Ward LDS Chapel (3431 East 100 North, Rigby) with Bishop Dennis Merrill officiating. The family will visit with friends on Monday, June 23, 2003, from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. at the Eckersell Memorial Chapel (101 West Main Street, Rigby, Idaho) and on Tuesday, from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. at the church. Burial will be in the Grant Central Cemetery, Grant, Idaho.
