Ronald Benton Poole, 76 of Menan passed away Wednesday, May 07, 2014 at his home.
He was born September 19, 1937 in Salmon to Joseph Ellsworth Poole and Aurella Hansen Poole. He was raised and attended schools in Dillon, Montana, Salmon, Idaho and Menan, Idaho. Ronald enlisted in the US Navy in 1954; he served as a Machinists Mate on a troop transport ship and was honorably discharged 1958. On June 3, 1964 he married Brenda Lee Berry in Idaho Falls; their marriage was solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple June 5, 1970. They were blessed with 6 daughters and 4 sons.
Ronald was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was a very hard worker and worked in construction and logging industry and was an excellent mechanic. He loved the mountains and above all he loved his family and grandkids.
He is survived by his wife, Brenda Lee Berry Poole, of Menan, daughters; Traycie Donnetta (Michael) Houser, of Twin Falls, Shiela Ronnette (Lewis) Brown of Brigham City, Utah, Zina Kerilyn (Lance) Skilton, of Victor, Lorie Lee (Tracy) Peterson, of Menan, Amy Aurella Marsden, of Menan, Suzanne Maria (Randall) Tinker, of Caldwell, sons; Donald Shayne (Heather) Poole, Christian Elias (Suzanne) Poole, of Ogden, Utah, Lloyd Thayne (Jennette) Poole, of Rigby, Levi Benton (Charity) Poole, of Menan, brother; Eddie (Jean) Poole, of Rigby, 42 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 5 brothers and 2 sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday May 10, 2014 at the Menan LDS Stake Center; 698 N. 3600 E. in Menan. The family will receive friends from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Friday at Eckersell Memorial Chapel, 101 W. Main Street in Rigby and from 9:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Saturday, prior to services at the church. Burial will be in the Annis Little Butte Cemetery. Services are under the care of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby.
