Rosa Gilbert Rindlisbaker, 95, of Blackfoot, died Sunday, August 14, 2011, at Bingham Memorial Hospital and Extended Care in Blackfoot.
She was born October 11, 1915, in Whitney, Idaho to James Harris Gilbert and Jennie Swainston Gilbert. She was raised and attended schools in Bancroft, graduating from Bancroft High School. On November 9, 1934, she married Fredrick Christian Rindlisbaker in Logan, Utah; their marriage was solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple on November 10, 1942. She worked along with her husband on the family farm in Hatch, Idaho, where they raised their family.
Rosa is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints; she enjoyed serving in the Young Women’s and Relief Society organizations. She was a leader in the 4-H Youth Development Organization and taught sewing.
She enjoyed embroidering, sewing, and cooking and loved to support her children and grandchildren in their activities.
She is survived by a daughter, Kaye (Richard) Berrett, of Roberts, Doyle (Mary Lou) Rindlisbacher, of Providence, Utah, a sister Ina Liljenquist, of Pocatello, Lu Dean (Wesley) Maughan, of Logan, Utah, brother, Sidney Gilbert, of Orem, Utah, 25 Grandchildren, 79 Great-grandchildren and 9 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sons, Clair and Layne, 2 brothers and 4 sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 20, 2011, at Wapello 2nd Ward LDS Chapel with Bishop James St. John, conducting. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. Friday evening and from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m., prior to services Saturday, both at the church. Interment will be in the Bancroft Cemetery, under the care of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby.
