Rosaline Newman Chandler, 91, passed away October 1, 2023, at her home in Rigby, Idaho, surrounded by her loving family. She was under the care of Hospice of Eastern Idaho. She was born November 15, 1931 in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Rulon and Dinah Newman.
Rosaline graduated from Ucon High School, Ricks College, and University of Utah with a degree in Nursing. She loved her profession and as a nurse worked in many different positions including: surgical nurse, home health nurse, and as an instructor at Ricks College.
She served as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the British Mission. On June 20, 1964, she married George Foster Chandler in the Idaho Falls Temple, and inherited an instant family of seven young children; she was a huge blessing to them. They completed their eternal family with three additional sons. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints where she served in many different callings.
Survivors include her children: Margaret Hall (Jerry), Robyn Meng (Phil), Marian Bird (Marlon), Carmel James (Daryl), Lloyd (Barbara), Alan (Donna), Neil (LeAnn), Paul (Nannette) all of Rigby; Hal of St. Anthony; Melody Case (Brett) of Idaho Falls; 68 grandchildren; 103 great grandchildren; and 4 great-great grandchildren, with 4 more expected; 4 brothers: Claude (Jeanine), Dennis (Denice), David (Linda), Danny, and 1 sister, Ann Yearsley (Nathan). She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, and brother, RJ (Glenda)
A viewing will be held at the Sundance LDS Church (602 Sundance Drive) Rigby, on Friday, October 6, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday, October 7, from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be at the Rigby Pioneer Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Eckersell Funeral Home in Rigby.
