Roy Earnest Hull

October 8, 1946 — July 25, 2021

Our Humble Hero was called home Sunday, July 25, 2021.

Roy Earnest Hull was born October 8, 1946 to Leonard Mann Hull and Delphia Amelia Lythgoe in Logan, Utah. The oldest child of nine, he was named after his grandfather.

When he met the love of his life, Vicki Lee Stucki, at a dance at Mack’s Inn during the summer of 1969, he was immediately smitten. He eventually convinced her to marry him in the Idaho Falls Temple February 20, 1970. He finished his Bachelor’s degree from BYU, and their first child, Erick was born in Rexburg, Idaho in 1971. Next came Terra in Poulsen, Montana in 1973 while he was working as a teacher there. Taral was born in Rexburg in 1976 and came home to Idaho Falls the day before the Teton dam broke, and in 1978 Tauna completed the family (also born in Rexburg). They raised their children in Idaho Falls, and later moved to the Boise area to be near grandchildren.

A stalwart member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, he is remembered by many of his friends for the quiet way he would show up to help whenever he saw the need. He loved working with the youth and was a dedicated scout master several times. As an avid reader, he could always be seen with a book. He enjoyed fishing and spending time in the water at lakes, rivers, and pools. He also loved going for drives. His idea of a family vacation was packing a lunch, getting in the car and driving to Yellowstone for the day.

He is survived by his sweetheart Vicki, his four children Erick (Tami Christensen) of Boise, Idaho, Terra (Lonny Cross) of Cameron, Missouri, Taral (Wendy Walker) of Logan, Utah, and Tauna (Dawon Gregory) of Meridian, Idaho, his siblings, Leonard (Barbara), Colleen (Jim Harper), Larry (Ann Deceased), Alan (Diane), Carl (Sammy), Debra (Bruce Tew), and  Daren (Regina), as well as his 23 grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents and youngest sister Verlene (Chandler).
