Roy Leo Reed

Roy Leo Reed, age 86, of LaBelle, died Saturday, June 21, 2003, at his home from causes incident to his age. Roy was born May 15, 1917, at Lorenzo, Idaho a son of Freeman L. Reed and Lula Addaline Yearsley Reed. He attended schools in Rigby and graduated from Rigby High School. He then attended Ricks College. Roy married Lola Hunter February 20, 1942, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They moved to LaBelle where he farmed all his life. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served as Ward Clerk and as a Temple officiator. Roy was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. Survivors include: Wife Lola Reed of LaBelle, Idaho 2 daughters Elaine (Richard) Ellis of LaBelle, Idaho Linda (John) Knowles of Boise, Idaho 1 son Sidney R. (Karen) Reed of Boise, Idaho 5 sisters Freda Madson of Rigby, Idaho Afton Wilcox of Rexburg, Idaho Helen Scheets of Idaho Falls, Idaho Alice (Frank) Kinghorn of Lewisville, Idaho Norma (Dale) Waters of Richland, Washington 2 brothers Calvin (Nelda) Reed of Rigby, Idaho Paul W. (Deon) Reed of St. George, Utah 7 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents and a granddaughter. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 24, 2003, at 11:00 a.m. in the LaBelle 1st Ward LDS Chapel (4223 East 528 North, Rigby, ID) with Bishop Richard Nelson officiating. The family will visit with friends on Monday evening from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. at the LaBelle Church and on Tuesday, from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. at the church. Burial will be in the Annis Little Butte Cemetery under the direction of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby.
