Rudy Hans Boelter, age 67, passed away at his home in Menan with family by his side, on Sunday January 15, 2017. Rudy was born March 16, 1949 in Salt Lake City, UT to Rudy Hans Boelter Sr. and Ruth Malzahn Boelter. He moved to Menan in 1967, and graduated from Rigby High School. He married Katherine Ann Boelter on February 14, 1970 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church. They had 3 children.
Rudy immensely enjoyed spending time with family and friends. His quick wit was always the life of the gathering as he had a great sense of humor. He was an accomplished musician and spent many years playing guitar with the Praise and Worship team at Crown of Life Lutheran Church. His faith was evident to all who spent time with him and it carried him through to the end.
Like his dad, Rudy was a talented sign maker. He was owner and operator of Decals Sign Shop in Idaho Falls and in his spare time he enjoyed woodworking, golfing, music, and spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife Katherine Boelter, his daughter Katey Lynn Gott of Idaho Falls and his two sons Timothy Scott (Sheri Lynn) Boelter of Billings, Montana and Brian Andrew Boelter of Idaho Falls, his mother, Ruth Boelter of Washington, UT, sisters Linda (Ron) Day of Rigby, Nancy Geissler of Boise, two brothers, Douglas (Sandi) Boelter of Surprise, AZ and Charles Scott Boelter of Everett, WA, six grandchildren, Zoe, Jordyn, Cherish, DJ, Sam, and Kara Ann and mother in law Bernadine Johnson, brother in law Jerry (Jacquie) Johnson, and sister in law Bonnie Barnhardt along with many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Rudy Hans Boelter Sr., father in law Robert Johnson Sr. and his brother in law Robert Johnson Jr.
A memorial service will be held at Crown of Life Lutheran Church in Rigby Idaho on Friday January 20, 2017 at 11am.
