Ruth Dawn Rushton Beck, age 79, died Wednesday, April 15, 2015, at the Madison Memorial Hospital.
Dawn was born October 22, 1935, in Great Falls, Montana a daughter of Clay Mattinson Rushton and Jetta Chadburn Rushton. She was raised and attended school in Vaughn, Montana, Ririe, Idaho and graduated from Rigby High School. Dawn was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. On July 30, 1953 she married Kay Wilson Beck in Rigby, Idaho. They were sealed on August 11, 1954 in the Idaho Falls L.D.S. Temple. She played the organ in every ward she was in since she was twelve years old. Dawn and Kay traveled from coast to coast attending her grandchildren’s sporting events, ballet performances and primary programs. Kay and Dawn loved to travel, making 11 trips to Europe with family members and traveling over 300,000 miles on their Honda Goldwing motorcycle. They spent winter together in Tucson and Queen Valley, Arizona for the last 14 years. She loved to ski, and skied every Saturday from 1964-1998 with her children and grandchildren. The joy of her life was spending time with her husband, daughters, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Dawn is survived by her husband Kay Wilson Beck of Rexburg, daughters, Dara Kae (Bob) Ricks and Lisa Dawn (Rick) Robison both of Rexburg, 7 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
Dawn was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Elaine Finn, Frances Hutchens, Halley Blair, Beth Ann Summerhays, and brother Bobbie Rushton.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 18, 2015, at the Harvest Hills L.D.S. Chapel (612 South Hidden Valley Road Rexburg). The family will visit with friends Friday evening from 6:30 – 8:00 p.m. and prior to the service from 9:30 – 10:45 a.m. both at the church. Burial will be in the Annis Little Butte Cemetery under the direction of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby.
