Ruth Ciesielski

Ruth (Humphries) Ciesielski, 91, of Idaho Falls, died August 8, 2008, at the Life Care Center where she had been since November, 2007 Ruth was born October 15, 1916, to William and Rilda Humphries, in Woodville, Idaho. She was raised in the Woodville area and attended schools in Woodville, Taysom, and Rose. She was the oldest of eleven children, six brothers and four sisters. She married Merlin Lloyd Godfrey and they were the parents of three children, Sherry (Clyde) Lott of Milo, Carol (Junior) Ostermiller of Newdale, and Keith (Lori) Godfrey of Idaho Falls. Ruth was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in various capacities, including a mission to the Albuquerque, NM Mission in 1978-79. She served in the Army during World War II where she was a mechanic and driver. She worked as a beautician for many years, and served as head housekeeper at the Stardust Motel in Idaho Falls for a few years prior to her mission. Ruth is survived by her children, thirteen grandchildren, (one deceased), eleven great grandchildren (Two deceased), and twenty-five great, great grandchildren, and the following brothers and sisters: Bertha (Kenneth) Baxter of Clark, Ruby (Arthur) Montague of Nampa, Dean (Betty Humphries of Idaho Falls, Leah (Ervin) Hill of Idaho Falls, Len (Fern) Humphries of Egin, Jess (Verna) Humphries of Salt Lake City, Marvel (Fred) Yates of Hood River, Oregon, Jerry (Zelene) Humphries of Lewisville, and Ron (Linda) Humphries of Boise Idaho. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, one brother DeeLoy Humphries, one grandson, Michael Roy Lott, one great grandson Anthony Lott, and one great granddaughter Christene Lott. The family will meet with family and friends at the Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby one hour prior to the service which will be held Tuesday August 12, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be in the Grant Cemetery.
