Ruth Ann Downey

Ruth Ann Downey, 89, of Menan, Idaho, passed away at her home Friday, January 22, 2016. Ruth was born in Economy, Indiana a daughter to Clifford B. Sanders and Lucile McQuiston Sanders. She attended schools in Brownsville, Indiana and graduated from High School in 1944. She married Harold J. Ryan in Liberty, Indiana. They were later divorced. She later married Irving Downey, April 28, 1986 in Salem, Oregon. She worked in Salem Oregon as a Bus Driver for the Salem Area Transit. She enjoyed carpentry, sewing and genealogy. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She is survived by her children: Alice Ryan of Vancouver, Washington, Tom Ryan and Ed Ryan both of Menan, Idaho, sisters: Helen Manes of Los Angeles, California and Doris Conrad of Connersville, Indiana and a brother, John Sanders of Sarasota, Florida, seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband Harold J. Ryan, and husband Irving J. Downy, her parents, a brother Howard Sanders and two sisters: Martha Jean Bullard and Mary S. Wade. The family will visit with friends on Wednesday, January 27, 2016 from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. at Eckersell Memorial Chapel, 101 West Main Street, Rigby, Idaho.
