Ruth May Harrop

Ruth May Fugate Harrop, 97, of Idaho Falls, passed away Friday, September 14, 2012 at Lincoln Court in Idaho Falls. She was born June 16, 1915, in Burton, Idaho to Delroy Christopherson and Emily Petersen Christopherson. She was raised and attended schools in Burton and attended Madison High School. On May 1, 1933, she married George Fugate in Rexburg, Idaho. He preceded her in death. On April 7, 1959, she married Cleo Jesse Rostan Harrop in Idaho Falls, Idaho. She worked at Bonneville Court House, and Highland Green House. She is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and was quilt director in the Relief Society, and a Visiting Teacher. Ruth was a very determined person; she loved Bingo and played every day at Lincoln Court. She did beautiful handwork and made quilts for many people and grandchildren. She also made hundreds of tricot pillowcases with lace. She is survived by her children, Ruth (Artell) Lovell, of Vancouver, WA, Pat (Vern) Clark, of Idaho Falls, Dorleen Williams, of Las Vegas, NV, Carol (Terry) Lee, of Idaho Falls, Larry (Jan) Harrop, of LaBelle, Sid (Peggy) Fugate, of Idaho Falls, sister, Verla Brown, of Plano, ID, 24 grandchildren 69 great-grandchildren and many great-great- grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, a daughter, Norma Griffith and a sister, Helen Jones. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 19, 2012, at Eckersell Memorial Chapel, 101 W. Main Street, Rigby, The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m., Tuesday, and from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m., prior to services, both at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Annis Little Butte under the care of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby.
