Ruth Maria Henry Millet, age 94, of Rigby died Wednesday, July 11, 2007, at the home of her son, in Rigby.
Ruth was born February, 17, 1913, at Rigby, a daughter of Edward Joshua Henry and Nora Jane Cole Henry. She attended schools in Rigby, graduating from Rigby High School, and continued her education at B.Y.U., Provo. March 23, 1933, she married Lorin Elmer Millet in the Salt Lake City, L.D.S. Temple. Ruth worked for various Rigby businesses as a bookkeeper and secretary, and also as a School Librarian at Harwood Elementary in Rigby. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in the Primary, Young Women’s organization, as Rigby Stake Relief Society President, Ward Organist and Chorister, and was active in the Scouting Program. She, along with her husband Lorin, served a mission to Tahiti. Ruth was one of the founding members on the Board of directors of the Rigby Senior Citizens Center, where she served as Secretary - Treasurer for twelve years, and was a member and past President of the Orem Ladies Lions Club. Ruth enjoyed crocheting, teaching and playing the piano, and playing the organ.
Ruth is survived by a daughter, Maria Jane (Michael) Bryson, of Logan, Utah, four sons, Lorin Edward (Joyce) Millet of Ephrata, Washington, William H. (Jan) Millet of Rigby, Robert C. (Linda) Millet of Rigby, Clark B. (Dianne) Millet of Rigby, two brothers, Merrell C. Henry of Orem, Utah, Charles H. (Rose) Henry of Rigby, twenty-eight grandchildren and forty great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one sister, Cleora and one brother, Ellis.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. at the Rigby 1st & 4th Ward Chapel., Saturday, July 14, 2007. The family will visit with friends from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Friday, at Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby, and from 9:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m., Saturday, at the Church. Burial will be in the Rigby Pioneer Cemetery.
