Ruth Shane (Hillman) Roth, 54, passed away on January 10, 2009, at Madison Memorial Hospital due to complications of surgery.
Shane was born to Nancy and Bud Hillman on May 27, 1954 at Rexburg, Idaho. She was the 3rd child and only daughter of Bud and Nancy.
Shane married Wendell J. Roth on June 21, 1973. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. They had the opportunity to have 4 beautiful girls come into their home. Shane’s family was the most important part of her life. Her husband, Wendell, daughters Jamie Nancy from Atlanta, GA, KimberLee Estella (Tim) Presser from Madisonville, KY, and Emily Lylia from Pocatello, ID. She was preceded in death by her daughter Reva Shyan. She has three grandchildren, Mckenzie, Kai, and Justin. She loved spending time with her family and was always talking about them and their accomplishments. She loved them and will be missed by them.
Wendell and Shane along with their daughter Shyan were in a very serious car accident eight years ago that claimed Shyan’s life and left Shane with medical challenges for the rest of her life.
Shane was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Shane had a heart of gold and was willing to give and serve her family, friends and community. She was constantly making gifts for people that she loved and those in need. She would call to just chat and check up on you. She was always busy with one project or another. Shane was an amazing cook; there wasn’t anything that she made that didn’t taste delicious.
Shane loved the outdoors. She had a pontoon boat that she spent as much time on as possible. She would go fishing or just for a ride. She loved to camp and spend time with nature.
Shane was a CASA volunteer and always made sure that the people she served had the best of care and every chance possible in life.
Shane lived most of her life in Egin, ID. She grew up there and finished high school, fell in love, got married and had children. However, Shane’s heart belonged in Arizona. She would go there in the winter (when it was too cold to go out on the boat) to visit family and friends and would just blossom like the flowers on the desert. She always looked forward to the opportunity to go back for another winter.
Shane is survived by her husband, Wendell, daughters Jamie, Kim and Emily. Father Bud, brothers Kurt, Kerry, Todd, Phillip and Garth. She was preceded in death by her daughter Shyan and mother Nancy.
