Samuel Lamar Gneiting

Samuel LaMar Gneiting, 83, of Rigby passed away Thursday, October 04, 2012, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls. He was born May 1, 1929, in Garfield, Idaho to William Gneiting and Mabel Jenkins Gneiting. He was raised and attended schools in Garfield. On November 4, 1949, he married Patricia Purser in the Idaho Falls, LDS Temple. He worked for Muir & Roberts for over 25 years and farmed in the Garfield area throughout his life. LaMar is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints; he served many capacities including Young Men's Leader, Sunday School and as Home Teacher. He enjoyed snowmobiling, 4-wheeling and camping and could fix anything. He and Pat enjoyed spending 17 years wintering in Yuma, Arizona. He is survived by his wife, Patricia Gneiting, of Rigby, sisters, Donna Hill, of Idaho Falls, Marcene Hadley, of Idaho Falls, and Arlene Hayes, of Rigby. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Evern Birch, brothers, Gene Gneiting, William Gneiting, and Merlin Gneiting. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 8, 2012, at the Garfield 2nd Ward LDS Chapel, 71 N. 3700 E. Rigby. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m., Sunday at Eckersell Memorial Chapel, 101 W. Main Street, Rigby and from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m., prior to services at the church. Burial will be in the Grant Central Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby.
