Sandra Jeanne Holder

Sandra (Sandy) Jeanne Holder, 64, of Rigby, Idaho returned home to her Father in Heaven on Wednesday, February 21, 2018 in Salt Lake City, Utah at the University Hospital. At the time of her passing, she was surrounded by her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Sandy was born in Rigby, Idaho on September 2, 1953, the daughter of Jink William and Norma Jones. She was raised and attended elementary and high school in Rigby, Idaho. Sandy was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and held many callings within the church including Primary President and Relief Society President, but she always said that nursery leader and Sunbeam teacher were her favorite callings because of how much she loved being with the little children. Before having to retire early due to illness, Sandy worked at the Idaho State Transportation Department in Human Resources for over 20 years. She loved her job and the many wonderful friends that she made during her employment there. She also drove school bus for a number of years for school district 251 and was loved by the kids who rode her bus. One of Sandy’s favorite pastimes was working in her yard. As long as the weather permitted it, she was outside, making her yard beautiful.  Sandy loved and was very talented at sewing, scrapbooking and all other crafts.  In her spare time, she made countless blankets and knitted baby caps for humanitarian aid.   Sandy devoted her life to her family and in service to others. She was funny and friendly and kind to everyone she met.  She selflessly spent her time taking care of everyone around her and was a devoted daughter, mother and grandmother.  The very best part of her grandchildren and great grandchildren’s lives was when they got to go to Grandma’s. Her life was her family and the Church. Sandy is survived by her mother Norma Jones, daughter Kimberely Hurley of Ammon, Idaho, her son Ryan Holder (April) of Driggs, Idaho, a sister Janeil (Roger) Brucks of Rigby, Idaho and a brother Mike (Pam) Jones of Rigby, Idaho as well as 4 grandchildren (Lexy, Maddie, Cade and Trey) and 2 great- grandchildren (Aaliyah and Braelynn). She was preceded in death by her father Jink Jones, a son Greg Holder, grandson Teran Hurley, and a sister Patti Peterson.   A funeral service will be held Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at 11:00 AM at the Rigby 12th Ward building (602 Sundance Rigby, Idaho). The family will meet with friends Monday, February 26, 2018 at Eckersell Memorial Chapel (101 W. Main Street, Rigby) from 6:30 to 8:00 PM and again prior to services on Tuesday from 9:30 to 10:45 AM at the Church building.  Interment will be in the Annis Little Butte Cemetery.  Condolences can be shared with the family at www.eckersellfuneralhome.com.
