Sandra Lee Bischoff Youngstrom, age 86 of Orem, Utah, passed away at her home the morning of Sunday October 25, 2026.
Sandy was born on November 15, 1939, in Blackfoot, Idaho, the daughter of Lawrence and Cora (Bolander) Bischoff. She graduated from Blackfoot High and then attended Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah where she enjoyed playing in the marching band. She earned a degree in Interior Design, found a talent for art and painted many wonderful pictures that her children still cherish. She married William Youngstrom on March 9, 1962, in the Idaho Falls Temple. She and Bill worked hard to make a life together successfully raising their 9 children.
She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints fulfilling many callings and roles. She was very savvy with numbers and accounting helping Bill in his many ventures. She enjoyed being a Boy Scout leader and was so proud to help her 4 sons achieve the Eagle Scout rank. She was also compelled to learn about and research diligently to find her ancestors and we have her to thank for completing many branches of the family tree on her side. When her children were mostly grown, she found wonderful employment that she loved at the Beehive Clothing company and worked there many years until her retirement. She and Bill enjoyed 61 years of marriage enduring hard times and certainly good times until he passed away in 2023. It was then her children moved her from Idaho to Summerfield Assisted Living in Orem, Utah to care for her. She loved her children and grandchildren and enjoyed seeing at least one of them almost everyday while she resided there. Sandy was very smart and talented and was a great example of patience, humility and endurance to all who knew her. She was deeply loved and will sorely be missed.
Sandy is survived by her 9 children, 25 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Her children include daughters; Jo Ann (James) Sanchez of Twin Falls ID, Janice (Cory) Miller of Orem UT, Lori (Larry) Gray of Lehi, UT, son, Andy (Sheri) Youngstrom of Rigby, ID, daughter, Donna (Deven) Scott of Idaho Falls ID, son, John (Debra) Youngstrom of Lehi UT, daughter, Diana (Larry) Mickelsen of Soda Springs, ID, son, Michael (Janelle) Youngstrom, and son, Glen Youngstrom both of Lehi, UT. She is also survived by her younger brother, Michael (Sue) Bischoff of St. George, Utah. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill, her parents and by a grandson, Charles Lee Youngstrom.
