Sarah Dixon, 18 of Ririe, passed away Friday, December 12, 2014 at her home.
Sarah was born July 8, 1996 in Rexburg, Idaho to Chad Ken Dixon and Rebecca Ann Zappitello Dixon. She was raised and attended schools in Ririe, and was a 2014 graduate of Ririe High School.
During high school Sarah participated in many extracurricular activities; she played basketball, did track , went to state track twice, and competed in the Simplot Games, she played the flute in the pep band, and concert band, competed in the Scholastic Bowl and participated in Distinguished Young Woman of Ririe. She enjoyed swimming and competed for many years. Sarah planned to attend BYU-Idaho in January, 2015, majoring in math education. Sarah also worked for Idaho Pacific doing data entry.
Sarah was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She enjoyed participating in the Young Women’s Organization and serving as the Laurel Class President. She loved girl’s camp and served as assistant camp director during her last year. She was also involved with Camp Magical Moments in Swan Valley. Sarah loved to babysit and enjoyed serving others.
She is survived by her parents, Chad and Becky Dixon, of Ririe, sisters, Cyri Dixon, Sarina Dixon, of Ririe, brothers, Randy (Morgan) Dixon, of Rigby, Jay Dixon, of Ririe, and grandparents, Ken and Dixie Dixon of Jerome.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Joseph and Marie Zappitello, and aunts, DeAnn Romer, Jenise Jensen and Judy Zappitello.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 17, 2014 at the Ririe Stake Center, 1406 N. 130 E. , Ririe. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m., Tuesday evening and from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m., prior to services, both at the church. Burial will be in the Ririe-Shelton Cemetery. Services are under the care of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby.
