Scott Young Randall, 81, passed away peacefully on May 6, 2025, surrounded by love and the legacy he cultivated over a lifetime of service, kindness, and quiet strength.
Born in Idaho Falls to Lloyd and Constance Randall, Scott was the youngest of six children and the only son. He grew up under the watchful and loving eyes of his five older sisters—Joyce Richardson, Jeanne Duke, Joanne Bowers, Jericho Smith, and Janice Thompson—who helped shape the man he became: steady, kind-hearted, and deeply rooted in family.
A proud graduate of Bonneville High School, Class of 1962, Scott went on to earn his degree from Brigham Young University in 1967. That same year, he joined the National Guard and bravely served in Vietnam. His years of service were marked by a quiet dignity and a steadfast sense of duty that would define his approach to life.
Scott was an educator at heart, dedicating much of his life to shaping young minds as both a beloved teacher and respected principal. His students and colleagues alike remember him for his calm presence, fairness, and genuine care. Outside the classroom, he wore many hats—barber, farmer, fisherman, hunter—but above all, he was a man of deep faith, humility, and humor.
He married the love of his life, Julie Randall, on October 21, 1967. Their bond was eternal, sealed in the temple on April 7, 2007. Together, they raised a loving family that extended beyond blood, welcoming foster children and countless others into their home and hearts.
Scott is survived by his devoted wife Julie; his children John and Amy; his foster daughters Tamara Braghieri, Laury Hales, Mary Ann Kelley, and Andrea Hawes; as well as a lively household of two dogs and five cats. His legacy lives on through his family, his former students, and the many lives he quietly impacted with a kind word or helping hand.
A man of many passions, Scott found joy in the simple things—restoring old cars, tending to his fields, casting a line into the water, and sharing tall tales around a campfire. His fishing and hunting stories were legendary, made even better by the twinkle in his eye as he told them. If you were lucky enough to share his table, you were family. And once you were family, you always were.
Scott Randall will be remembered not only for what he did, but for who he was: a man of principle, a steward of the land, a mentor, a storyteller, and above all, a cherished husband, father, and friend.
May his memory forever inspire those who knew and loved him.
Graveside service will be held May 10, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at the Ririe-Shelton Cemetery, 12463 E 192 N, Ririe, Idaho. The family will visit with friends Friday evening, May 9, 2025, at the LDS Fairview/Coltman Church, 12448 N 5th E, Idaho Falls, Idaho.
