Sebrina Paulette (Bowen) Whatcott, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother passed away at her home in Rigby, Idaho on Saturday, April 25th, 2026, with her sweetheart Kerry by her side. Sebrina was just shy of her 61st birthday, born on May 1st,1965, in Santa Monica, California to Betty Gunter and (later) her stepfather Leeroy Bowen. She is preceded in death by both of her parents.
Sebrina was an avid artist, and upon high school graduation was awarded an art scholarship to college. While circumstances prevented her from pursuing this path, her passion and dedication to her art never ceased. You could find Sebrina making any kind of creation she could dream of, whether it was re-designing her home, building walls or fences, baking delicious treats, making homemade soap, or crafting her dolls, snowmen, ornaments or whatever she could think of. Her home was filled with love, laughter, and always an extra chair at her table. Sebrina’s love of celebrating, especially with her family, could be seen year round, whether it was pumpkins around every corner, Easter bunnies hiding around the house, or 30 Christmas trees spread throughout her house. By her side was the love of her life and eternal companion Kerry Whatcott. Kerry and Sebrina met in Pasadena, California and were married and sealed on December 13th, 1986, in the Los Angeles, California temple. Throughout their marriage, they lived in Provo, Utah; Burbank, California; West Jordan, Utah; Merrimack, New Hampshire; Fort Worth, Texas; and finally in Rigby, Idaho. Wherever there was Kerry, Sebrina was there eagerly planning the next project for them to work on together. Partners in crime, Kerry was the Dunkin’ to Sebrina’s Donuts, the cowboy to her cow, or the Mickey to her Minney.
A dedicated member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Sebrina had a testimony strong enough to brighten the darkest of moments. Her voice was soft enough to touch each of those around her, and strong enough to carry and advocate for her family. She was devoted to her four children, Nichole, Richard, Melissa, and Tabitha, as well as her grandchildren. Sebrina made lifelong friends wherever she went, people drawn to her and her vibrant personality; she was truly sunshine personified, and will be missed by all those whose lives she touched.
Sebrina is survived by her husband, Kerry Whatcott, as well as all of her children and grandchildren: Nichole Whatcott (daughter Camberlie), Richard Whatcott (wife Dani, children Paisley, Sequoyah, Sylas, and baby girl due later this year), Melissa Whatcott, Tabitha Meredith (husband Michael). She is also survived by her siblings: Paul Bowen, Rebecca Ramirez (partner Dean Caudle), Ed Bowen, Jeremiah Bowen, and Lorna Madsen (husband Derrick).
The memorial service and viewing will be held this Friday May 1st, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., viewing at 10:00-10:45 a.m., Sebrina’s 61st birthday, for family and friends at Eckersell Funeral Home at 101 W Main St. Rigby, Idaho 83442. Immediately following the services, the burial will be held at the Rigby Pioneer Cemetery, 4023 Ririe Hwy, Rigby, Idaho 83442, where Sebrina will be interred until the morning she can be reunited with her eternal companion Kerry, and her family.
