Sharon Staggs Hobley, passed away Tuesday, June 14, 2022 at Lincoln Court in Idaho Falls.
Sharon was born on June 21st, 1935 to Phineas and Mabel Ball in Idaho Falls, Idaho. She attended school in Ammon, graduating from Bonneville High School. She worked as a beautician for a time before becoming a histologist and working for Idaho Falls Hospital (later Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center) until she retired in 2001.
Sharon grew up and lived in Ammon, Idaho for most of her life. She was an active and devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, dedicating much of her time to humanitarian relief efforts and Boy Scouts. She enjoyed crochet, sewing, painting, and tending to her gardens.
She married her eternal sweetheart Jay R. Hobley on December 29th, 1998 and moved to Rexburg, Idaho, where she lived for the remainder of her life.
She is survived by her daughter Scarlett Tracy (Bob) of Palmer, Alaska, sons Gerald Staggs (Edie) of Danville, Virginia, Garth Staggs (Polly) of Sheridan, Wyoming, and Jeff Staggs of Sheridan, Wyoming. She is also survived by her brother Gary (Joann) of Rexburg, Idaho.
Together, Sharon and Jay had 34 grandchildren, 54 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband Jay Hobley, sons; Gregory Staggs, and Elston Staggs, her sister Colleen Cook, brother Richard Ball, and grandchildren Heather Arehart and Cherokee Bates.
Sharon’s family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to Brio Home Health and Hospice for their compassion, dedication, and care they provided.
Funeral Services will be held Monday, June 20, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. in the Lyman 4 th Ward Chapel, 5200 South 2041 West, Rexburg, Idaho 83440. The family will visit with friends Monday at the church from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. Burial will be in the Ammon Cemetery under the direction of Eckersell Funeral Home in Rigby.
