Sheron Rae Eckersell Olson

Sheron Rae Olson, age 83, passed away on February 22, 2017 at her home in Bountiful Utah. Sheron was born in Rigby, ID on March 28, 1933 to Adam Berdett and Pearl (Thomson) Eckersell. Sheron grew up in Rigby, ID and graduated from Rigby High School. She married Alan W. Muncey in 1951, living in France for two years as he served in the US Air Force. They had three children. They later divorced. She married Glenn A. McKenzie in 1963 in Ogden, UT. They had two children. They later divorced. In 1991 she married the love of her life, Don L. Olson. They were married in the LDS Jordan River Temple and made their home in Bountiful. Sheron had a beautiful signing voice and sang with the Chansonettes singing group while in Rigby. She retired from Woods Cross High School where she worked as a secretary for 14 years. She had a great love for the students and staff. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She had a deep love for the gospel and her Savior Jesus Christ. She often shared her strong testimony of the gospel with her family. Sheron is survived by her husband, Don L. Olson and children: Ron (Janet) Muncey, Marilyn (Dale Tortorich) Muncey, Colleen (Todd) Jones, Roger (Jill) McKenzie, Kevin Olson, David (Victoria) Olson, Cherstene Olson, Jennifer Olson, Jonathan Olson; 25 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren. Preceded in Death by her parents, Brother Bruce Eckersell, Sisters Marilynne Eckersell and Clarece Bowler, Daughter Susan and Son-in-Law Steven Penman. A viewing will be held on Tuesday, February 28, 2017 from 7:00-8:30pm at the Orchard 6th Ward Church, 3599 S. Orchard Dr, Bountiful, UT. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 1, 2017 at 12:00 Noon in the chapel of the Orchard 6th ward Chapel with a viewing prior to services from 10:30 to 11:45 AM. Interment will be in the Bountiful City Cemetery.
