Shirlee Geanne Dahl

Shirlee Geanne Dahl, 61, passed away peacefully in her home on August 14, 2004. Shirlee was born April 7, 1943, at Los Angeles, California a daughter of Eugene Elbert Presley and Lola Johnson Presley. She married Dennis Stratton Dahl on September 1, 1961 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Shirlee was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in numerous church positions and callings. She especially delighted in her years as an officiator in the Idaho Falls Temple. Her faith was strengthened by her love of the natural world and enjoyed countless trips outdoors to collect rocks or look at birds or wildflowers with her husband and family. She enjoyed gardening and for many years hosted a community 4th of July party. Above all else, Shirlee enjoyed the love and associations with her family, her twelve grandchildren were the highlight of her life. Survivors include: her husband Dennis S. Dahl of Rigby; 2 daughters: Shannon Dahl of Idaho Falls and Amy (Jason) Beyeler of Salmon, Idaho; 2 sons: Chris (Kim) Dahl of Drummond, Montana and Jason (JoLyn) Dahl of Rigby; 1 sister Carla Labrum of Rigby; and 12 grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 18, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. in the LaBelle LDS Church with Bishop James Bazil officiating. The family will visit with friends on Tuesday from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. at the LaBelle Church and on Wednesday from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. at the church. Burial will be in the Rigby Pioneer Cemetery under the direction of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby.
