Shirley Colson Burns

Shirley Colson Burns, 87, of Menan, Idaho passed away on Monday May 21, 2018 at the Parkwood Meadows Living Center.

She was born on June 17, 1930 to Fred Colson and Lucille Hathaway Colson in Chester, Idaho and graduated from the Idaho Falls High School. She married Marvin Luke Burns on June 27, 1952. Through their marriage they were blessed with 4 sons and 3 daughters.

Shirley enjoyed Oil Painting, the Salmon River, horse riding, and Traveling with Marvin anywhere and anyplace. She worked as a bus driver for the INEL and School District 93 and was owner operator of Burns Trucking. She retired in 1995.

She is survived by her daughters; Bonnie Denning of Golden Valley, Arizona, Beth (Kevin) Klitgaard of Blackfoot, Idaho, sons; Ron Burns of Salmon, Idaho, Marvin W. (Elizabeth) Burns of Menan, Idaho, Brian (Teresa) Burns of Rigby, Idaho, Brent (DeanNa) Burns of Ririe, Idaho, two sisters, Salie (Butch) Brown of Washington, and Yvonne (Jerry) Landon of Roberts, two brothers: Bill (Lisa) Colson of Anchorage, Alaska and Jim (Debbie) Colson of Idaho Falls, Delpha (Tony) Rushin of Ririe, Idaho, as well as 25 grandchildren, 52 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild.

Shirley was preceded by her husband Marvin, parents, Fred and Lucille Colson, sisters; Carol and Geri, and a daughter, Sherry Burns,

Services will be held on Friday May 25, 2018, 1:00 PM at the Eckersell Memorial Chapel (101 West Main St. Rigby, ID 83442). The family will visit with friends on Thursday, May 24, 2018 at Eckersell Memorial Chapel from 7:00 to 8:30 PM and prior to the services on Friday from 11:30 AM to 12:45 PM.
