Shirley Jeane Reyes

Shirley Jeane Reyes, 78 of Rigby, passed away Thursday, July 3, 2008 at her son’s home in Meridian. She was born February 18, 1930 in Lewisville, to Edward James Rawle and Jennie Irene Barnes Rawle. She attended school in Lewisville, Salt Lake City, and Rigby High School. June 22, 1947 she married Jay E. Christensen in Rigby, Idaho. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Jordan River Temple. They were later divorced. June 22, 1972 she married Aledesmo Reyes in Idaho Falls, they later divorced. Shirley was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served as a primary teacher. She enjoyed reading, crocheting, embroidering and fishing. She is survived by three daughters, Joyce (Tyrone) Powell of West Jordan, Ut., Lawna Jeane (Glenn) Neil of Ucon, Idaho, Trudy Elaine (Steve) Jacobson, of West Jordan, Ut.; five sons, Farren (Diana) Christensen of Washington, Utah, Gale J. (Cheryl) Christensen, Scott (Diane) Christensen, Kyle (Kimberly) Christensen, all of Rigby, Rafael (Mauria) Reyes of Meridian; sisters, Nina Leonard of Ririe, Betty Linder of S.L.C. Ut., Patricia Andersen of Idaho Falls; a brother, Edward George (Chris) Rawle, of Sacramento, Ca., Nineteen grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Edna Hayes. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 9, 2008 at the Clark Ward LDS Chapel. The family will visit with friends from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m., Tuesday at Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby and Wednesday from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. at the church. Burial will be in the Ririe-Shelton Cemetery under the direction of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby.
