Shona Lynn Chavez

Shona Lynn Chavez, age 46, of Idaho Falls, died at her home in Idaho Falls February 24, 2008 of natural causes. Shona was born June 20, 1961 at Rexburg, Idaho a daughter of Hermilo Emil Chavez and Harriet Martha Lee Chavez. She attended schools in Rigby and Eastern Idaho Vocational Technical College and earned and associates degree in Business Marketing. She was raised as a member of the LDS Church. She worked as a seamstress and in retail sales in the Idaho Falls area. She enjoyed being a mom, her two dogs, camping, sewing, making things for nieces and nephews, spending time with her family, writing poems, and always remembered special occasions of family and friends. She is survived by a daughter Malina Kae Chavez of Idaho Falls, a son Joshua Michael Chavez of Idaho Falls, her parents, Hermilo Emil and Harriet Martha Chavez of Rigby, four sisters: Suzy (Bryant) Larsen of Idaho Falls, Danette (George) Westervelt of Harrison City, Pennsylvania, Annie Jo (Tony) Lazzarotto of Idaho Falls, and Karla (Lenn) Ward of Ogden, Utah, two brothers, Tony (Julie) Chavez of Idaho Falls, and Troy (Melissa) Chavez of Menan. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 27, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. in the Rigby Stake Center (258 West 1st North). The family will visit with friends on Wednesday from 11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. at the Stake Center. Burial will be in the Ammon Cemetery under the direction of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby.
