Spencer Samuel Jackson age 17 of Menan, Idaho died on Saturday, December 6th in Menan.
Spencer was born at home April 29th, 2008, to Steven Lamont Jackson and Stephanie Knighton Ward. He was an ambitious student and loved to learn both with his hands and his mind. He was on the path to finishing his STEM Associate Degree at the same time he graduated from high school.
Spencer was witty and funny, but he was no comedian. He was very athletic, but he was no jock. He was analyzing and intelligent, but he was no genius. Spencer's true strength resided in his huge heart. He had enough time and love to give to everyone he saw who needed it. He wanted to bring people together. He wanted to make people laugh. He wanted to see them succeed. He wanted to laugh and love and live with everyone who was willing.
He was planning to serve a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints when he graduated. He loved God and he wanted others to feel God's love the way that he had. He was already a missionary to his friends, and he will now be serving and teaching in the eternal world.
Spencer participated in track, wrestling, tennis, and skiing, but his consistent sports love was pickleball. He had an injury in his right shoulder because he just wouldn't stop playing...so he taught himself to play left-handed.
He was a light and a strength to all who had a chance to know him. He will be thought about and missed and cried over and remembered with laughter for so many years to come.
Spencer loved to serve. In lieu of flowers please find someone to serve, write about it in a card, and mail it to PO Box 21, Menan ID 83434.
Spencer is survived by his parents, Stephanie and Shane Ward of Menan, ID and Steve Jackson of Pocatello, ID; his sisters Lynette Herrera (Wilber) of Snowville, UT; Breanne Bartholomew (Trevor) of Roy, UT; and Sarah Prestwich (Brigham) of Rexburg, ID. He was preceded in death by his Grandmother Shawna Romney Jackson and his cousin Malcolm Knighton.
