Stacy Dallas Smuck (62) of Rigby, Idaho lost his long and courageous battle with cancer in the early morning hours of December 27, 2021 surrounded by his family.
He was the youngest of six born to Herbert Smuck and Katherine Bennett Smuck in Story City, Iowa on September 15, 1959. In 1977, he graduated from Alden Community School and on January 16, 1981, he married the love of his life Rebecca Linn Turner in Buckeye, Iowa and later that year they welcomed their first-born Luke.
Before moving to Utah his family remembers many family and friend volley ball games and card nights. He would entertain his nieces and nephews with tractor rides and is remembered as an awesome husband, dad, son, brother, uncle, cousin, friend, grandfather and most of all a jokester.
While in Utah Stacy started his glazing career at Jones Paint and Glass before opening his own Glass Company with his wife Becky, later moving to Idaho in 1995. Stacy worked for Valley Glass in Idaho Falls from 1998 until he retired in 2020.
When Stacy wasn’t working or spending time on the homestead his time was spent hunting, fishing, and camping with family and friends. He spent as much time as possible pheasant hunting with his grandson Dayton, dog Baby and later with Bandit.
Stacy is survived by his wife of 40 years Becky Smuck, Sons: Luke Smuck (Lily) of Idaho Falls, Idaho, Seth Smuck (Cristy) of Idaho Falls, Idaho, Chad Smuck (Nikki) of Rigby, Idaho. Grandchildren: Dominic, Kellin (Alex, Destiney), Dejah, Amaya, Dayton, Maylee and many adopted. One brother: Steve Smuck (Randy) of Buckeye, Iowa and Sisters: Susan Smuck of Iowa Falls, Iowa and Sheryl Goodknight (Terry) of Alden, Iowa and many nieces, nephews, in-laws and cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents: Herbert and Katherine Smuck; his sisters: Sandra Transgrud and Sally Waldroupe; nephews: Drew Goodknight and Cash Rapp.
The Family would like to thank Teton Cancer Institute, Dr Sisal’s office and Hands of Hope Hospice for all of their help and support in Stacy’s long cancer battle. Stacy requested he be cremated and for the family to have a celebration of life which will be held on January 22, 2022, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the Menan Community Center in Menan, ID.
