Stephen Ray Galey, 66 of Roberts died Friday, November 17, 2017, at the Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center. Stephen was born March 10, 1951 in Marion, Indiana a son of James Dee Galey and Thelma Ramp Galey. Stephen was raised mostly in California and graduated from Palm Springs High School. He worked as a chef in different restaurants and was the former owner of Pops Country Café in Hemet, California, where he was known and loved by many. He had belonged to the Hemet Jeep Club and the Inland Empire Chef’s Association. He was a former member of the Community Christian Church in Hemet, California and is an active member of the Roberts Community Church. Stephen was a man of faith, loved his family with his whole heart, and was a friend to everyone he met. He was proud to have served his country in the Army. He enjoyed spending time with family, traveling with his wife Linda, fishing, jeeping, and cooking. Stephen is survived by his wife Linda Galey of Roberts, daughter, Caitlin Galey of Portland, OR, Step-daughter Lerah McCallion of Roberts, sons Collin Galey of Portland, OR, Dillon Galey of Portland, OR, step-son Dylan McCallion of Hemet, CA, sisters, Patricia Galey of Morongo Valley, CA, Lauri McQuiston of Bluffton, IN, Brothers, Michael Galey of Homeland, CA, Daniel Galey of Fort Wayne, IN, Sean Galey of Hemet, CA and James “Andy” Galey of Hemet, CA., and 5 grandchildren. Stephen was preceded in death by his parents, and brother Phillip Galey. Services will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby.
