Stephen "Steve" Leo Moon

Steve Moon age 51, died peacefully surrounded by his wife and children on May 23, 2023  in his home in Rigby, ID after a valiant battle with cancer.  He lived by the motto, ”When you love and laugh abundantly, you live a beautiful life.”

Steve was born the youngest of 5 children to Betty and Harris “Huck” Moon in St. Anthony, ID on July 16, 1971.  He was the king of his own little Mayberry, believing that if you had a mode of transportation… a BMX bike, a Toyota truck, or even a 1974 Dodge Dart, the possibilities were endless. Steve graduated from South Fremont High School in 1989 where he was active in multiple sports and clubs and was the captain of the football team.

Steve served a mission in Arcadia, California, Spanish-speaking, for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He was a faithful member of his church throughout his life serving in many capacities and sharing his love for the Savior through his contagious smile and with a kind word for everyone.  He attended Ricks College where he met his wife Camille Helm Moon, and they married on January 6, 1995. He finished his education at Utah State University earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Business and Marketing.

Steve was the proud papa of 5 children, Chelsea, Harrison, Justis, Davis, and Anna.  He bloomed wherever he and Camille planted their family whether Utah, Idaho, or Nevada. He cherished his relationships and experiences in each.  He had a successful career in sales and made many lasting friendships throughout his career. For the last 15 years, he worked in Software Sales finishing his career as the #1 Enterprise Account Executive at Ascent. Steve loved both his job and the people he worked with.

Steve loved the outdoors, and while his family was young, weekends and vacations were spent camping and hiking with friends and family. Steve enjoyed the journey.  He stopped to read the signs and was the Google master. His natural curiosity made him a dilettante of learning.

Steve is preceded in death by his parents, Betty Lou, and Harris George Moon; son Davis Jones Moon; father-in-law Brent Roland Helm; brother David Moon and close friend Shannon Tolley.

Steve is survived by his sweetheart, Camile Helm Moon; his children Chelsea Lou Moon (Patrick) Rhodes, Harrison Brent Moon (Abigail Lovejoy), Justis Stephen Moon, and Anna Camille Moon; grandchildren Israel Jayne Rhodes and Georgia Moon Rhodes; mother-in-law Pamela Jones Helm; Steve’s siblings Katheryn Moon (Lee) Clark, Rebecca Moon (Tim) Rehfield, Phillip Howard (Lacey) Moon; Camille’s siblings Amie Helm (John) Aldrich, Darren Roland (JoAnne) Helm, Dustin Wendell (Sherri) Helm, April Helm (Geoff) Cornelsen, Steven Brent (Brittany) Helm, and Nathan Brent (Aimee) Helm.

Steve’s wife and children would love to receive friends and family at the East Rigby Stake Center outside pavilion on Friday, June 2, 6:00 p.m. -8:00 p.m. at 4021 E. 300 N. Rigby Idaho, 83442 for a celebration to honor and celebrate Steve’s full life.

Saturday, June 3, 2023 from 9:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. there will be a viewing at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints located at 5 N 3900 East, Rigby, Idaho with a Funeral to follow at 11:00 a.m. The interment services will be held at The Wilford Cemetery 2540 E 225 N, St. Anthony, ID 83445.
