Sterley Mondell Smout

Sterley Mondell Smout, 68, of Idaho Falls, died Monday, January 29, 2007 at Overton, Nevada from injuries he received in an automobile accident. Sterley was born February 3, 1938 at Annis, Idaho a son to Sterley Peter Smout and Shirley Tolman Smout. He married Jo Fordyce. They later divorced. He ranched in the Leadore area. He enjoyed drawing western theme pictures, playing his guitar, singing riding horses and ranching. Survivors include his son Peter Mondell Smout of Idaho Falls, his mother: Shirley Smout of Idaho Falls, three sisters: Shirley Anne (Wayne)Woodhouse of Idaho Falls, Ina (Tom) Jensen of Sandy Utah, Joyce Cheney of Renton, Washington, one brother Edwin (Patricia) Smout of Poulsen, Montana, one granddaughter and one step grandson. Funeral services will be held Saturday, at 10:00 a.m. at the Idaho Falls 18th Ward Building,1200 Dunbar. The family will visit with friends on Saturday for one hour prior to services at the Church. Burial will be in the McRae Cemetery in Leadore, Idaho, under the direction of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby.
