Stetson Brice Mitchell

Stetson Brice Mitchell, 18, of Monteview, died Wednesday, March 25, 2009. He was born September 27, 1990 in Rexburg, to Robert “Kip” Messerli and Melanie Alise Mitchell. He was raised on the family farm in Monteview and attended Terreton Elementary and West Jefferson High School. Stetson has an artist’s soul and loved drawing, playing his guitar, snowboarding and hanging out with his many friends. He loved all animals and brought home many a stray. He had an especially tender heart for little animals, and a love and talent for any computer. Most of all he loved his family, especially the little kids, who loved him the best. He is survived by his mother, Mother, Melanie of Monteview, his father, Robert “Kip” Messerli, of Terreton, His brother and best buddy Austin, and brothers, Krayton, Kenny, Wyatt and Gabe, sisters, Christina and Alena. Grandparents “Poppo” Brice Mitchell, “Memaw” Sherrie Mitchell, of Monteview, Grandparents, Robert and Ann Messerli, of Terreton, and Grandmother Rose Marie Messerli, of Boise. Great Grandmother, Carol Hatfield, of Emmett, and Great Grandfather, Warren Mitchell, of Monteview, Great Grandmother, Jeanette Burnside of Idaho Falls, a special Cousin, Kylie, and numerous Aunts, Uncles and Cousins. He is preceded in death by his Great Grandfather, Kenneth Phippen, of Boise, Great Grandfather, Robert Hatfield of Emmett, and Great Grandmother, A. Dorothy Mitchell, of Monteview. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, March 30, 2009, at the Terreton Stake Center. The family will visit with friends and family from 11:00 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. prior to services at the church. Interment will be at the West Jefferson Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Eckersell Funeral Home in Rigby. In lieu of flowers, an account has been set up at the Bank of Commerce in Mud Lake, to help with funeral expenses.
