Steve Ryan Woods

Steve Ryan Woods (aka Bubba), 38, was returned to his family on June 8 after a boating accident on May 24 with an extensive search from family, friends, search & rescue personnel, and volunteers. Steve was born in April 1977 to Rick and Sherry Woods of Menan, Idaho. He graduated from Rigby High School in 1995, furthered his education at Spartan Aeronautics in Tulsa Oklahoma graduating with an AMP mechanics license, and would have graduated this fall from Embry-Riddle with a Bachelors Degree in Aviation Maintenance Management. He worked at various airports building his career eventually landing his dream job with the Forest Service. In January of 2004 he married Kamille Hamblin Woods at the Moon Palace in Cancun. They live in the Ogden Utah area where they raised their two children. Steve enjoyed many different outdoor activities including big game hunting and fishing. He very much enjoyed his annual fishing trip on the Green River with his mentors, family, and friends. Steve also loved playing softball for the last 20 years in different leagues with one of his goals in life being able to enjoy a game at every major league baseball stadium. He especially enjoyed playing golf with his son and coaching his daughter in softball. Steve had a zest for life, traveling with family and touching the hearts of many people. He has acquired many friends throughout the years in different areas of the country with his kind heart, personality, and smile. Steve is survived by his wife Kami Woods of Syracuse UT; daughter Kyra McCracken and son Tyler McCracken of Syrcuse UT; parents Rick and Sherry Woods of Menan ID; sister Richelle (Chance) Peterson of Rigby ID; and grandmothers Faye Woods and Gladys Buckland both of Menan, ID. He was preceded in death by his grandpas Steve Buckland and Dean Woods. In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate donations to the Bonneville or Jefferson county search & rescue department for their hard work and dedication. A celebration of life ceremony will be held from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Kemp Jet Center at the Ogden Airport, 4282 S. 1650 W. Ogden, UT Saturday, June 13, 2015. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, June 27, 2015 at River Rim Ranch, 937 Rim River Ranch RD, Tetonia. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m., Friday June 26, 2015 at Eckersell Memorial Chapel, 101 W. Main St. Rigby. And from noon to 1:00 p.m. prior to services at Rim River Ranch.
