Steven George Golder

Steven George Golder, age 71, of Menan, passed away, at his home, Saturday, August 22, 2015. Steven was born December 20, 1943 in Rexburg, Idaho a son to Ralph Hill Golder and Elizabeth Gray Golder. Steven was raised in Menan. He graduated from Rigby High School and attended Ricks College and Utah State University. On October 1, 1966, he married Barbara Boyd in Meeteetse, Park County, Wyoming. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple, November 25, 1967. He enjoyed building churches, bridges, schools and homes working as a construction superintendent for Cannon Builders, Inc. of Blackfoot, Idaho, as a Project Manager for Dome Technology LLC, of Idaho Falls, and was self-employed in the building industry. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, golfing, waterskiing, snow skiing, dancing, serving other people, sharing time with family and holding grandchildren. He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and was currently serving as a Pathways Program Missionary at BYU-Idaho. He is survived by his wife Barbara Boyd Golder of Menan; daughters: Stephanie (Russ) Bennett of Annis, Sheri (Lane) Purser of Salem, OR, Ginger (Lewis) Bird of Klawock, AK, Kristine (John) Fenstermaker of Pocatello; son Marcus (Jessica) Golder of Rigby; sisters Marian (Gyle) Hollingsworth of Ogden, Utah, and Irene Schaat of Rexburg; brother: Ray (Carol) Golder of West Valley City, Utah, sister-in-law LaRee Golder of Menan. Twenty five grandchildren and one great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter Sharene Golder, brother Ralph Golder, two sisters: Dorothy Schaat and Rachel Golder and two grandsons: Gabriel Purser and Jacob Purser. Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 29, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in the Menan LDS Stake Center 698 North 3600 East, Menan. The family will visit with friends on Friday at Eckersell Memorial Chapel 101 West Main Street, Rigby, from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. and on Saturday at the Menan Stake Center from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. Burial will be in the Annis Little Butte Cemetery.
