On Friday, May 28, 2021, Steven Michael Jensen suddenly passed away. He will be sorrowfully missed by his loving wife and best friend Rebecca.
Steve was born April 23, 1959 in Covina California, the son of Kurt Hauberg Jensen and Gail Millard Jensen. He attended schools in Pasadena and Glendora, California, graduating from Glendora High School in 1977. After the passing of his father in 1979, Steve began to run the family carpet installation business in Glendora, California. Over time he became an entrepreneur, starting up Jensen Rug Boards and years later, Motor Dogs Restaurant out of an old gas station in Pasadena California. He loved creating businesses. His most recent was the finding and refurbishing of classic trailers for resale.
Steve married Rebecca Marie Arnold in Temple City, California on June 4, 2011. Their marriage was soon solemnized on June 16, 2012 in the Los Angeles Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
In 2016, Steve and Rebecca made a move to Rigby, Idaho. Steve loved meeting people. His wife said that he met the most interesting people in his business ventures. Either way, Steve had a lot of friends growing up and had countless more through his business opportunities and associations. Steve’s greatest love was his family. That included the love of his ancestors down to the joy of his life…his daughters and little boys. He loved his children.
He had some interesting hobbies, and a few went along with his ventures. He loved making “Jensen Tacos”, hot dogs, and going camping at Shaver Lake, California. He loved (and some would say a vice) and boasted that he was a true USC football fan, he liked his Pepsi and he was a collector of vintage gas station memorabilia. He loved being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. After President Nelson announced a 2-hour church schedule, he religiously had Primary with his boys each Sunday after church.
Steve is survived by his loving wife, Rebecca Jensen of Rigby, Idaho. His children, daughter Lyndsey (Matt) Partrick of Charlotte, NC, stepdaughters Aliese (Noah) Fitch of Blackfoot, ID, Anna (Zach) Crockett of Pocatello, ID, Grace Leslie of Rigby, ID, and sons Jason and Michael Jensen of Rigby, ID. He has a sister, Sherri (David) Bonds of Elizabeth City, NC, and three brothers, Tony (Marion) Jensen of St. George, UT, Scott Jensen and Linda Kelley of Glendale, AZ, and Robert (Kathleen) Jensen of Grants Pass, Oregon. And most recently, grandchildren, Jensen Patrick and Peter Fitch. He was preceded in death by his parents.
A funeral service is scheduled in his honor on Thursday, June 3, 2021 at 11:00 AM in the Holbrooke Chapel of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (196 North 4000 East, Rigby, ID). The family will meet with friends prior to services at the church from 9:00 to 10:45 AM. Interment will be in the Rigby Pioneer Cemetery.
