Steven Eugene Morgan

Steven Eugene Morgan, age 61, of Rigby, died at home Tuesday, November 25, 2014. Steven was born November 27, 1952, in Rigby, Idaho a son of Welton Eugene Morgan and Phyllis Agnes Ames Morgan. He was raised in the Rigby area and attended school there. He married Alyss Marie Hunter on March 12, 1986 in Ririe. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple on September 17, 1987. He worked as a truck driver throughout his life. Steve had a great love for animals, particularly horses. He enjoyed the outdoors, traveling, and gardening. He was an active member of the LDS Church. He loved his family and enjoyed his grandchildren. He worked as the Range Rider for the Snake River Cattlemen’s Association in the mountains above Swan Valley for several years. The family has many happy memories living in those mountains during the summer months. He is survived by his wife, Alyss Marie Morgan of Rigby, one daughter, Elizabeth (Jim) Rouse of Colorado Springs, Colorado, four sons, Christopher (Melissa) Morgan of Logan, Utah, Chad (Megan) Morgan of Idaho Falls, Andrew (Joselyn) Morgan of Idaho Falls and Robert Morgan of Blackfoot, his father, Welton Eugene (Connie) Morgan of Rigby, two sisters, Susan (Richard) Bishop of Macks Inn, Idaho and Tanya (Denny) Edwards of Grace, Idaho, three brothers, Paul (Lachelle) Morgan of Idaho Falls, Tom (Vicki) Morgan of Idaho Falls, and Joe (Jerry) Morgan of Idaho Falls, and 15 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his mother Phyllis A. Ames Morgan. Funeral services will be held Saturday November 29, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in the Rudy/Clark Ward LDS Chapel 198 North 4300 East, Rigby. The family will visit with friends on Friday November 28, from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. at Eckersell Memorial Chapel 101 West Main Street, Rigby and on Saturday from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. at the church. Burial will be in the Ririe-Shelton Cemetery under the direction of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby.
