Steven Carter Shuldberg, of Terreton, Idaho, passed away at Homestead Assisted Living in Rexburg, Idaho, on June 30, 2022 at the age of 78.

Steve was born on July 6, 1943 in Winder, Idaho to Karl and Eudora (Carter) Shuldberg. He was the second oldest of 9 kids. When he was the age of 1 his family moved to Terreton where they established the family farm.

Shortly after high school, Steven would find himself in Vietnam serving in the engineering division of the army national guard. While in Vietnam he would eventually be awarded both the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star Medal.

After serving in Vietnam, Dad came back home to Terreton where he purchased his first semi. He would later buy his final truck that he drove until only a few months before his passing. He loved his truck, and he loved to drive it to see many people and many locations in Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, and Utah. One location he would frequently talk about was a ranch in Casper, Wyoming where he would deliver hay. The moose in the area would also come to winter and feed on the hay.

While driving so many miles he had countless other stories to tell. Some stories were of delivering to feed lots for the winter elk and seeing the big horned sheep along the way, or of when he had to jump out of a semi on Jackson pass that had lost its brakes; that semi still resides at the bottom of the canyon.

Dad was married two times. Once in 1970 to Carol Davidson. With Carol, they were blessed with four children: Lisa, Ben, Jason and Heidi. Steve and Carol were divorced in 1979, and in 1982 he would marry Jeannette Solomon. Steve and Jeannette would be blessed with three more children, Roy, Stanley and Kaytie, before the two divorced in 1987. He never remarried, and lived the rest of his life in Terreton, Idaho where he raised rodeo stock until 1989 and drove his semi to deliver hay, straw and cattle (among other things) for so many.

Dad was off-and-on active in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, but could be found every Sunday listening to the “Music and Spoken Word” and rarely missed listening to a General Conference. He enjoyed his 19 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, loved animals, loved driving his semi, and loved Pepsi.

Steven is preceded in death by his eldest daughter Lisa, his parents Karl and Eudora, his son Jason, and his older brother Larry.

He is survived by his children Ben Shuldberg of Boise, Idaho, Heidi (John) Edstrom of Rexburg, Idaho, Roy (Sierra) Shuldberg of Meridian, Idaho, Stanley (Heather) Shuldberg of Hamer, Idaho, and Kaytie (William) Bouvier of Dallas, Texas, as well as his younger 7 siblings, his 19 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren.

A viewing will be held on Tuesday, July 5, 2022 from 6-7:30pm at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at 1297 E 1500 N in Terreton, Idaho. Funeral services will be July 6, 2022 at 11am at the same building. There will be a short viewing from 10-10:30am on July 6 th and Steven will be interred at the West Jefferson Memorial Cemetery. We invite all to attend.
